About Us

At The Little Red Schoolhouse Preschool we understand that every child is unique and has their own learning style. We strive to teach to your child’s learning style so that they can experience success and accomplishment which in turn will help them develop a lifetime love of learning.

Owner/Teacher

Emilee Hunter

Owner/Teacher Literacy is my passion! As the mother of two I have enjoyed helping my children build a foundation of literacy and learning. I have run a preschool in my home and worked as a Literacy Para for the Twin Falls School District.

Teacher

Kelsey Skinner

Hi, I'm Kelsey, and I'm so excited to be joining the preschool team! As a mom of four, I truly believe every child is special and has their own unique spark. I've had the joy of teaching children in different settings, and I can't wait to create a fun and engaging space for your little ones to learn and grow.

Teacher

Laura Pierson

"Children have a natural tendency to live life to the fullest, and I’ve always been drawn to their excitement and enthusiasm for life. I earned my B.S. in Family, Consumer & Human Development from Utah State University in 2011. The Child-Development portion of my major peaked my interest, and I’ve been working with young children ever since. Most recently I’ve spent the last four years directing the Rapids Soccer Club Youth Academy for players ages 4-8 and enjoyed watching children learn the sport in a fun and encouraging environment. I also enjoy working with the Twin Falls School District as a guest teacher, spending time in the elementary schools. I believe when kids have a loving and trusting environment, they can accomplish anything!”

Music Teacher

Carol Higginson

Plato said, “Music gives a soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination and life to everything.” I love music! I am fascinated by all that music can do for us, especially our children. Music can help develop skills in all areas of life including reading, speaking, writing, drawing, muscle coordination, impulse control, even math. Not to mention, music is fun! I am passionate about teaching music to children of all ages. We consider music an integral part of our home to enrich ourselves and the lives of our four children. I have taught music to children’s groups and taught private piano lessons for several years now. I am excited to be starting my third year teaching at the preschool and sharing my love of music with your children.

Parent Information

An Open House will be scheduled sometime in the last two weeks of August. Please follow our Facebook page for more information. https://www.facebook.com/LRSPreschool

School will begin the first week of September.

Children may not arrive more than 10 minutes early. Children must be promptly picked up at the conclusion of each preschool day.

PICK UP/DROP OFF at our new location 359 Falls Ave. W.
Parking for drop-off and pick-up will take place on the preschool property using our drive-through lane. Due to limited space, traffic will flow in one direction only. Please enter the driveway from Sparks, pull forward until you reach the East entrance where a teacher will be present, then park briefly to unload your child. Your child should enter through the East door with their teacher. For safety, preschool doors will remain locked during class time. If you need to pick up your child early, please contact your child’s teacher directly; text messages are preferred during class hours. At pick-up, please again enter the driveway from Sparks and pull forward as far as possible toward Falls Ave. Remain in your vehicle until a teacher brings the children outside. Once your child is secured, please exit the pick-up line promptly to allow for efficient flow and minimize delays for other families.

Our schedule coincides with the Twin Falls School District schedule. When the School District is out for vacation days we will not have classes as well; this includes snow days. We will send home a reminder about vacation days with your child. Please follow our Facebook page for more information. https://www.facebook.com/LRSPreschool

If your child is sick we ask that you do not bring them to preschool. If your child has had a fever over 100, diarrhea, or vomiting in the past 24 hours we ask that you keep your child home. If your child has excessive coughing, sneezing, or runny nose we ask that you keep them home. If your child has head lice or open lesions in the mouth or on the body we ask that you keep them home. If a child does not feel well parents will be asked to come to the school to pick up their child. If a parent cannot be contacted emergency contacts will be called.

We ask that you notify your child’s teacher if your child will be absent. You may email, text, or message us at any time.
